“Look, here’s how this is gonna go: You’re gonna pander to me, cater to all my whims, no matter how silly or self-destructive they may seem. After some time doing this I’m gonna start questioning your backbone. Even start wishing aloud that I had a stronger man. This is gonna piss you off. Like to the nth degree. You’ll put your foot down, say you’re done being my step-stool, that’s when I’ll start callin’ you all kinds’a bitches an’ shit. We’ll have a big-ass till-the-cops-come-knockin’ argument, but once the dust settles you’ll go back to pandering to me because you know what’s likely to come if you don’t, and of course I’ll eventually question your ‘manhood’ again. And no, I have no fucking clue what I REALLY want, I just know that whatever it is, most of it ain’t in you……. Hey, where are you going? Come back here. I NEED you.”
“Look, here’s how this is gonna go: You’re gonna pander to me, cater to all my whims, no matter how silly or self-destructive they may seem. After some time doing this I’m gonna assume you’re weak and that I can walk all over you. I’ll exploit this by stepping out on you countless times. This is gonna piss you off. Like to the nth degree. You’ll put your foot down, say you’re done being my step stool, that’s when I’ll start callin’ you all kinds’a bitches an’ shit. We’ll have a big-ass till-the-cops-come-knockin’ argument, but once the dust settles you’ll go back to pandering to me because I’ve proven to you—via other women wanting me—that I’m a ‘commodity.’ And no, I have no fucking clue what I REALLY want, I just know that whatever it is, most of it ain’t in you……. Hey, where are you going? Come back here. I NEED you.”
Activists are fucking annoying. All they do is whine and whine until they get what they want. Just a’buncha perpetual nuisances. But damn it, they get results; after enough impassioned rhetoric, marches, boycotts, sit-ins, destruction of property (and memes) institutions (both corporate and political) become fatigued and begrudging policy change results. Even private individuals can be swayed by this (at times white noise-esque) persistence: they can be ‘annoyed’ into Tolerance™ and/or Political Correctness™, but here’s the thing: all the stuff that fuels our prejudiced mindsets doesn’t just magically disappear post annoyed-into-acquiescence; it lies dormant, resurfaces after the tension of suppression becomes too much to bear. That’s why we’re sat here—in this time of hoverboards and flying cars—shrugging our shoulders, wondering why we haven’t reached the proverbial mountaintop yet. Thing is: Every last one of us are chock-full of suppressed fears that have the potential to manifest themselves as all sorts of self-destructive absurdity.

A lot of our criticism of others seems to lowest common denominate to:
We’re so afraid of being exposed as frauds that we will readily exchange our souls for a ‘perverted’ peace of mind. ‘Perverted’ in the sense that we only experience this peace when we’re comparing and contrasting ourselves against the people we think are relatively ‘more’ wicked than us (this is the ‘soul exchange’ in action), usually in the agreeable company of those who are on the same ‘soul plan’ as us1.

Wanna become a social media demigod? All you gotta do is find yourself a boogeyman and RELENTLESSLY dig into ’em every-damn-day. Oh, and for those of you on that ‘it’s JUST social media’ kick, I’m not talking about ‘just’ the online social media world, but popular forms of corporate-run social media and ancient social media as well.
If you’re unsure of which boogeyman to go with just scroll your feed/timeline, or flip through a few channels on the tube. Whoever JUMPS out at you—like whoever you just can’t fucking stand on-sight—that’s your guy/girl! And you don’t even have to work hard to create material about ’em, the shit will just pour outta you because the boogeyman is usually attached to some real, very painful life experiences. Well, not him EXPLICITLY, the experience had nothing to do with him. He just ‘looks’ like the person or people who facilitated your negative experience, and thus becomes representative of them.
Representatives are dope, they give us an easily discernible target to train our focus on; the formlessness of what drove the experiences is too difficult for us to get a satisfying grasp on, we need ‘something’ to go after with our vitriolic rhetoric and/or whatever latest-craze boogeyman-destroyer we’ve dreamt up. In a sense, we appropriate the ‘demonic’ spirit (aka the nebulous and universal drive to inflict pain) to destroy it. Shit’s diabolically ironic.

NDoR™s usually break out after an egregious racial event occurs, and are typically (reactionary, nuance-lacking) affairs that lowest-common-denominate to a few buzz-topics: Black on Black Crime™, White Privilege™ and White Supremacy™. I thought I’d have a little fun and break down these topics Tricky Relativity style…

In Minecraft’s Nether you cannot sleep. The game allows you to place a bed down, but the minute you try to lie down it blows up. This got me to thinking about the concept of eternal suffering. I’ve always thought such a concept would be impossible due to our adaptability. After burning in Hell for 10,000 (equivalent) years you might get used to it…unless the suffering got incrementally worse. Now THAT would suck.
You know that devastating feeling you get when you leave an air-conditioned room and walk out into 100 degree heat? The contrast is so extreme that the heat stings you more than it would had you been out in it for a few hours. In the concept of Hell I’m presenting here the ‘air-conditioned room’ would be ‘lesser’ intense suffering, but the contrast would be just as extreme. But what would be the rate of change? To ensure maximum suffering I would think it would have to be a ridiculously small increment of time… Imagine being outside on an extremely hot day and the temperature increasing a few degrees every nanosecond, and you had no way of seeking refuge. Not even death could save you.
Now if a place like this actually exists I would like to believe that it would take a whole HELLuva lotta cuttin’ up to get banished there. Like you would have to have actually CAUSED some incremental suffering of your own. Not some mundane shit like having consensual sex with another adult after a night out at Red Lobster.

Anarchy. Over-and-over again. Why? The situation breeds it. The tension is always there. Frustration permeates. There’s never enough. Always gotta pull stunts to make ends meet. Aggressive narcissism follows when you gotta ‘resort’ to that. It’s you against the whole world then. Fellow man be damned. Imagine this resolve—like a cancer—spreading through a people, generation after generation.
One of the most detrimental costs of slavery has to be the cultivation of identities and cultures centered almost exclusively around relative lack. This has been both a blessing and a curse; everything from soul food, to blues, to jazz, to hip hop was ingeniously wrought from this ‘lack.’ But the association between black and lack has also caused quite the existential crisis. These fights against racial injustice may really be battles against a literal negative association. This is why the minute someone with a drop of black blood does something exceptional some black people rush to publicly celebrate them…
